PEOPLE ARE ASKING

Is the A5 Spry an automatic knife?

Yes, the A5 Spry is an automatic out-the-front (OTF) knife. It ejects and retracts the blade by pushing and pulling the push button. Automatic knives are also known as switchblade knives in some places.

Is S35VN considered a good steel?

The CPM-S35VN steel employed for the A5 Spry blade stands out in the premium knife market for its unparalleled blend of toughness, edge retention, wear resistance, and its exceptional corrosion resistance.

Is the A5 Spry difficult to sharpen?

All Tekto knives come sharpened. As is expected, at some point, they will require a sharpening. The secret is not to let the blade get too dull. S35VN is a relatively hard steel that can be sharpened with nearly any standard device.

Where is the A5 Spry made?

As with all Tekto knives, the A5 Spry is designed, tested, and assembled in Portland, ME. Tekto uses a combination of local and foreign manufacturers and in-house capabilities to create a quality product for life's most demanding missions.

Are OTF / Automatic Knives legal?

Knife laws vary from state to state. We recommend that you review your local laws. For more information, check out this guide.

Is the A5 Spry good for left-handed carry?

Yes, the Spry has a side button and a reversible clip, which makes it ideal for left-handed carry.

Which blade style should I choose?

The Dagger style is ideal for piercing and precise cutting; the Drop Point excels in general-purpose tasks, while the Tanto blade offers robust strength and piercing capabilities. Decide what you'll be using your knife for, and choose the correct blade style for that task.

You’re not going to like your review.

Part of purchasing your product is customer experience. I had to wait over (3) weeks for the knife I ordered. And then you sent me the wrong knife. It was not engraved. And when I emailed you and told you, you were unapologetic and said my order was still in your shop. I told you. I’m not going through the trouble to send it back and wait again another month. This is an expensive knife and I would expect your company to be on point with customer service as well as standing by your product.

Tekto Knives

Ricardo, you are right. We are not happy about the review, but we do appreciate the honesty. One of our team members sent out the knife without engraving due to a human error; that is our fault, and we are happy to make it right. Your engraved knife is prepared and ready for shipment.

A5 Spry objective review

What a knife, just wow. The SPRY is extremely light when compared to the other automatic knives I own is quite compact. The opening mechanism is snappy and feels secure. The button contours a little more than the Badger (Tekto’s mini OTF) but its a perfect fit for this type of handle. The handle feels secure when held and does not slip out. I haven’t had to use the glass breaker, but the pocket clip is great and does the job. I know this is an cpm-s35vn blade but I have not used it for anything too serious, mainly your everyday tasks for now and its still sharp with no issues. Overall I think this might be the best automatic knife I own, absolute beauty and excellent performance. I received the black Spry with the dagger blade 1 month ago at no charge in return for an honest review

Just amazing!

I'm a first responder & this is now my go to for any emergency situation that calls for a fast acting blade. I got the double edged Dagger blade in all black, the weight is perfect (not to heavy & not to light, it's just right!) I keep this on a side MOLLE strap upsidedown for quick access & it has yet to let me down. Thanks again Tetko for finally getting it right!
