Being a long term Tekto customer, I was asked to take the A2 Badger for a spin in return for an honest review. Before being asked to do this, I purchased several Tekto knives (Alpha, Kenetik, Romeo, and others), so I am familiar with the brand and the quality. I am a fan.
Living in California, there are restrictions on automatic blades. The A2 Badgers blade comes in under 2” making it legal to own and carry. The A2 Badger truly is a tank of a knife, it is exceptionally well built, probably better than the other knives I have. The body is made out of light aluminum, and the machined groove allow for a good grip. The blade, as with the Alpha is great, black matte, and easily sharpened. The coolest thing about this knife is the opening and closing mechanism. It is addicting. The sound it makes is so satisfying that I have to remind myself not to play with it.
The cpoket clip was a little too tight, I had to loosen the screw holding it down, but overall this is an amazing knife. I tested the desert cerakote version and did not have a chance to check out the other two colors, I think they are oxidized.
After having the knife for 2 weeks, I had to send it back because the “spring was too tight.” I was told this was the reason the blade kept coming off the track.
2 months later and it’s even worse. See video. Yes I tried shoving it down, wobbling it, pulling it up. I don’t feel like I should have to take apart a +$100 knife and fix it after 2.5 months of ownership. This is honestly really disappointing.

This little badass is freakin awesome. I have a few other OTF knives from Tekto and this wee beast is my favorite. It’s hearty, sharp as hell, perfectly compact, and fantastic. Get it! Don’t hesitate. Quit reading my review. Get this knife. You’ll love it.
Good size and weight. Am concerned though because I also purchased two tekto frost knives and one arrived with a screw loose and failed within a day. I returned both of them due to lose of confidence with that knife. I hope these fair better. If I was tekto I’d have followed up with that but alas it was just a simple return situation.
I bought it for myself but moments after it was out of the box my wife wanted to try it. Needless to say I had to order a new one because that's now her EDC.
